First Visit & Donate ... Home For The Angels

Hi friend, as mentioned, we were visiting the below charity center on 12 Sept 2010. Below is some update for your information :) I will split to two posts for two different place.

First Visit - Home For The Angels, located in Bandar Sungai Long
MamaHui Home Made House had donated 8 boxes of jelly mooncake and RM125 to Home For The Angels (i will try to scan the receipt of donation and show you all then).

We reached there about 11am. It is actually a double storey link house. There are 14 kids that need to take care by the center, youngest is 6 years old, eldest is Form 4.

Most of them is from those broken family, father or mother or both parents passed away, parents very old/sick thus cannot take care, abused by parents, etc. 14 of them together with a teacher that taking care of them, squeeze in two bedrooms within wooden bed (no tilam). We did not visit their rooms, but from window, in looks like the wooden bed is like those layered-wood (sam-gap-ban in cantonese, not sure is called layered wood) in double decker.

We had taken photo with some of the children :) The one wearing spec and in white t-shirt is me, Mamahui, and the other pretty girl in blue t-shirt is my friend who accompany me to visit them, and the one who taken this photo is my husband who not in the photo ;p

Home For The Angels is actually taken care by a Buddhist Association. Therefore, all the children is with Buddhist name, and their name is with meaning. Boy is start with ‘一’and girl start with '妙'. And the teacher name them by looking on their character/personality etc. For example, if the boy very naughty and cannot be quiet, they named him 一静

Every morning, they will need to go pray at 7am and 7pm, even if holiday. And, one year, they can only go home once, either to their house (if their parents still here), or go to relatives house, during Chinese New Year.

They actually looking for donation of a land (and money as well), so that they can have a better environment. If you interested to donate, you may bank in to Maybank Account 512389700154.

Thanks again for your donation of jelly mooncake!! The children so excited when they see the jelly mooncake, and kept on asking us what is the falvor :)

Thank you!!!
