First Visit & Donate ... Home For The Angels

Hi friend, as mentioned, we were visiting the below charity center on 12 Sept 2010. Below is some update for your information :) I will split to two posts for two different place.

First Visit - Home For The Angels, located in Bandar Sungai Long
MamaHui Home Made House had donated 8 boxes of jelly mooncake and RM125 to Home For The Angels (i will try to scan the receipt of donation and show you all then).

We reached there about 11am. It is actually a double storey link house. There are 14 kids that need to take care by the center, youngest is 6 years old, eldest is Form 4.

Most of them is from those broken family, father or mother or both parents passed away, parents very old/sick thus cannot take care, abused by parents, etc. 14 of them together with a teacher that taking care of them, squeeze in two bedrooms within wooden bed (no tilam). We did not visit their rooms, but from window, in looks like the wooden bed is like those layered-wood (sam-gap-ban in cantonese, not sure is called layered wood) in double decker.

We had taken photo with some of the children :) The one wearing spec and in white t-shirt is me, Mamahui, and the other pretty girl in blue t-shirt is my friend who accompany me to visit them, and the one who taken this photo is my husband who not in the photo ;p

Home For The Angels is actually taken care by a Buddhist Association. Therefore, all the children is with Buddhist name, and their name is with meaning. Boy is start with ‘一’and girl start with '妙'. And the teacher name them by looking on their character/personality etc. For example, if the boy very naughty and cannot be quiet, they named him 一静

Every morning, they will need to go pray at 7am and 7pm, even if holiday. And, one year, they can only go home once, either to their house (if their parents still here), or go to relatives house, during Chinese New Year.

They actually looking for donation of a land (and money as well), so that they can have a better environment. If you interested to donate, you may bank in to Maybank Account 512389700154.

Thanks again for your donation of jelly mooncake!! The children so excited when they see the jelly mooncake, and kept on asking us what is the falvor :)

Thank you!!!

Some thing that gave me a 'shock' during this Jelly Mooncake donation

I think i should share some thing that 'touched' or 'shocked' my heart during the raise of the donation of this jelly mooncake...or, i should say : gave me a 'blink blink', and let me have new thinking about donation...

This post is not about our product, or the status of the Jelly Mooncake donation, so you may skip this post if you not interested, but i think good to read :)

After we decided to raise donation of jelly mooncake, i saw a friend in Skype, then i told her about this donation (she actually bought two boxes jelly mooncake from me). Then she asked me to donate two boxes on behalf, and will pay me later.

Therefore, i said thank you to her on behalf of the charity center. The touching moment happened (or the blink blink ;p), what she said really made me a 'shock', she said "i should thank you instead, as you given me opportunity to do charity"

Huh, you know what, after i saw her reply, my view about 'donation' is changed!

Last time, i think that raising a donation is to help those that need our help, as simple as this, nothing else. But after read her reply, i 'suddenly' understand that raising a donation, not just to hope those kids will feel happy when received jelly mooncake (coz most kids like jelly), but to give opportunity to others to do donation and show their concern to the society.

I really 101% agreed on my friend! Coz not everybody have the 'chance' to do donation. Some did not read my post and some did not get my sms, as i not telling everyone that i know. I just tell when i met then, and felt like telling ;p so, if that day i did not tell her about this donation, she will not manage to donate two boxes of jelly mooncake....

I think nowaday, everyone is too busy, till even no time to do donation. Ya, sometimes, we do have 'opportunity' to do donation when you having your lunch/dinner outside, where someone will come with 'license' or photos and asked for donation, but as you  in doubt of the 'donation' (don't know really a donation or not...), so most of us will not donate.

So, hope not only MamaHui Home Made House, but others can give us an opportunity to do donation....of course, must be trustable... ;)

Going to send Jelly Mooncake to Charity Center by Tomorrow!

Hi friends, once again, thank you very much for the donation. Till today, we managed to gather 22boxes of Jelly Mooncake. Although not reaching our target of 30boxes, but this is still an encouraging figure for us!

After deduct the necessary expenses + some cash donation, we will donate in total RM245 for the Charity Center mentioned in previous post. As the donation in cash is not much, therefore, we will see if we should donate cash (means RM110/center) or buy necessaries to them :) we shall decide after we visit them tomorrow :)

Oh, after spending me one whole day to finish the 22 boxes of jelly mooncake, we going to send to the Charity Center by tomorrow!!

Although this is just Jelly mooncake, i think they can feel warm as we still remember them in this meaningful festive season. Hope they will happy with this present from you, i think they sure will :)

In future, MamaHui Home Made House may still planning for some others charity activity, we hope to receive your support again :)

Last but not lease...THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

Jelly Egg Yolk is Not Real Egg Yolk

Hi, this is to clarify that the Jelly Egg Yolk that inside the Large Jelly Mooncake is not Real Egg Yolk :)

It is actually Carrot Juice (so it looks Orange colour), and then add in some salt and agar-agar powder to make it into Jelly Egg Yolk :)

Hope this explain your doubt...as few customers query about this :)

If you would like to order Jelly Mooncake, pls email to MamaHuiHomeMadeHouse@gmail.com

Thank you & Happy Mooncake Festival!!
